Spring

The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You’re one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,
A wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you’re two months back in the middle of March.

    1. Good morning Eugenia, it says just what I feel. I stopped buying squirrel food because I thought they wouldn’t need it now that we are half way through March and buds, berries and fresh leaves would start showing up in our woods. Not happening because it’s so cold out, 28% tonight. I had to ask my daughter to buy me a bag of squirrel food, (one last time I hope) to carry them over a little longer. The poor little guys are all over the empty squirrel feeder. 😦

      1. We have set out small bowls of unsalted peanuts for the birds and it’s amazing the number of birds coming around that we usually don’t see. Our low for tonight is 29F – brrr.
