My Kitty And Me

My kitty’s name is Simply Sweet
My Daddy found her on the street
She was so skinny, shivering and cold
Guess she was only a couple of weeks old

She hid in the pocket of my Daddy’s big coat
Poked her head up, a meow slipped outta her throat
I knew right then she’d be my best friend
For always and ever, till the very end

I’m all grown up now, I’m almost three
Mommy say’s big enough to take care kitty
I’m an only child but not alone anymore
Kitty and me share toys, my bed, and
milk on the floor

The Grand Creator

If you ever wonder, ever doubt
What this big world is all about
If you question life, if you really need to know
When the morning sun streams through your window
And you catch your breath at the glow of your child
Laughing and hugging the softest sweetest little kitten
The answers can be found, you know where it is written
Just sit very still and watch everything that is great get even greater
Then you just have to know the answer is yes, we do have a Grand Creator

A Happy Time For Cows

The Cow in Apple Time

Something inspires the only cow of late
To make no more of a wall than an open gate,
And think no more of wall-builders than fools.
Her face is flecked with pomace and she drools

A cider syrup. Having tasted fruit,
She scorns a pasture withering to the root.
She runs from tree to tree where lie and sweeten.
The windfalls spiked with stubble  and worm-eaten.

She leaves them bitten when she has to fly.
She bellows on a knoll against the sky.
Her udder shrivels and the milk goes dry

Grandchild’s Hand

The promise of tomorrow
And the hope of dreams come true…
A reminder of the childhood
That’s still a part of you…

The wonder of a miracle
From which this love began…
There is so much found in the touch
Of holding a grandchild’s hand.

Milk for the Cats

Vintage Photo ,Digital Download, Cats ,Photo, for altered art and crafts

Milk for the Cat

When the tea is brought at five o’clock,
And all the neat curtains are drawn with care,
The little black cat with bright green eyes
Is suddenly purring there.

At first she pretends, having nothing to do,

She has come in merely to blink by the grate,

But, though tea may be late or the milk may be sour,

She is never late.
