Rain, rain, go away,
Come again another day.
Rain, rain, go to Spain,
Never show your face again.
Rain, rain, pour down,
But not a drop on our town.
Rain on the green grass,
And rain on the tree,
And rain on the housetop,
But not on me.
Rain, rain, go away,
Come again on washing day.
Rain Rain Go Away! This is probably the perfect nursery rhyme to sing when the rain is pouring down outside. Rain Rain Go Away is a traditional nursery rhyme that was published in the 17th century or earlier. Since then, new variations of the song have appeared.

yes I sang it every time it rained and I couldn’t go out to play. In the forties if it rained kids had to stay in and play with their paper dolls or lincoln logs. We much rather roller skate or ride our bikes.
